Cell Tower with Verizon eNB 145369 and 445369, in Wildwood, Florida

Today, we will be looking at a cell tower that hosts Verizon eNB 445369, operating on LTE bands 2 and 66, and the Verizon eNB 145369, operating on LTE band 5. The tower is located approximately on Mile Marker 304.5 on Florida’s Turnpike. The actual tower location is 302 Florida’s Tpke, which in turn is located in Wildwood, Florida, or better said, The Villages, due to all the new construction that has been happening there.
This tower was recently upgraded. CellMapper says it was first seen on December 21, 2025. It was surprising to see these 2 eNBs as previously, the tower only had microwave antennas and the Turnpike video camera feed. This meant that the 2 eNBs were not properly located in the CellMapper map.
I had my theories of where they would be located since there is a tower nearby, but it had no LTE or 5G sector antennas. However, when I went through the Turnpike yesterday, I saw that they were installed beneath the microwave antennas.
Below are some Streetview images of the tower. These were captured on April 2025, which is before the sector antennas were added. Yesterday, it was foggy when I passed plus there were several accidents that I had to take an alternate route on my way back, so we are just relying on Google’s Streetview image just so you get the idea of how the tower looks:
Given the new construction around this place, it makes sense that Verizon added some more capacity and coverage here. Since The Villages is a 55+ community, poor cell coverage would quickly lead to complaints. With this tower upgrade, residents in the surrounding area should now have much better service.
After confirming that this tower was upgraded with these 2 new eNBs, I went ahead and properly placed both where they should be in CellMapper. They are now shown in green:
This was another contribution to the platform, and it is a nice hobby of mine when traveling to find what improvements carriers are doing to their networks.
