Hi everyone,

Today, we will be seeing the ASUS ZenDrive SDRW-08U9M-U External Slim Optical Drive. This is an external USB DVD Drive capable of reading and writing various CD and DVD formats.

The formats this unit is capable of reading includes CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD+/-R, DVD+/- R DL, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM. It can also write to CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-R DL, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM.

The drive is powered by USB and uses a Mini USB connector.

Unboxing

The drive comes in a small, almost square box:

When we open the box, we can take out the carton that holds DVD drive:

When taken out, we see the DVD drive:

After taking out the DVD drive along with the rest of the content, this is what we have:

This drive comes with 2 USB cables: A USB-A Y cable to Mini USB and a USB-C to Mini USB:

The unit comes with a software DVD, which contains utility software to burn and play discs:

The optical overall drive tray design, including the optical lens, is the same as other LG USB Slim Optical Drive models. This unit is an LG drive.
