The Dell DW316 External Slim USB DVD Drive
Hi everyone,
Today, we will be seeing the Dell DW316 External Slim USB DVD Drive. This is an optical unit capable of reading and writing to various CD and DVD formats.
The formats this unit is capable of reading includes CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD+/-R, DVD+/- R DL, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM. It can also write to CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-R DL, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM.
The drive is powered by USB and uses a Mini USB connector.
Unboxing
The drive comes in a small, almost square box:
When opened, we see the DVD drive:

Now it’s time to see the DVD drive. It comes protected inside a plastic bag:
We can see it uses a Mini USB connector:
After taking the drive out of the plastic bag, this is how it looks:
This drive is actually an LG drive, which has a model of GP61NB60:

The optical overall drive tray design, including the optical lens, is the same as other LG USB Slim Optical Drive models.
