This drive can burn CDs and DVDs and offer fast speeds up to 24x for CD-R and 8x for DVD+/-R discs. It uses a SATA connection:

The only DVD type it cannot handle is DVD-RAM. This may be because this disc type is now discontinued:

The Optical Pickup Unit (OPU) is similar to those from LG drives. Maybe it is using a Hitachi OPU or another similar OPU from another vendor:

This drive is part of a Dell laptop. It works great and is very fast although a bit noisy when reading and writing at the maximum speed. If you don’t mind its incompatibility with DVD-RAM media, I can recommend this drive.
