Embalses de Puerto Rico v1.9 introduces new Dark Mode

Embalses de Puerto Rico v1.9 introduces new Dark Mode

Hi everyone

Yesterday, I published the version 1.9 of Embalses de Puerto Rico, which adds support for Dark Mode:

Now, the app will use Dark mode if your device is set to that mode.

If you want to force the app to use Light or Dark mode, regardless of the system setting, you can do that by using the all-new Theme setting:

This will override the system setting unless the System default option is selected.

Light mode is unmodified for those who would like to continue using it:

You can download or update this app in the Google Play Store, here.

With this mode, I hope your experience using the app is improved and allows you to continue monitoring the reservoir levels during these times of drought.

Hi everyone,

Here’s some pictures I took when we were going to land:

Meet Puerto Rico – Costa Sur Thermal Power Plant

Meet Puerto Rico – Costa Sur Thermal Power Plant

Ever wondered how electricity is made in Puerto Rico?

Today, I’ll shows you a video of the Costa Sur Thermal Power Plant which is one of many Power Plant generators here on the Island.

I had the opportunity to visit this place as part of an IEEE organization activity in the university where I study. The plant is located in Peñuelas, PR (Click here to open Google Maps).

It was a great experience since we were given a tour in the entire power plant. The plant uses the Rankine cycle to generate electricity to millions of residents on the Island. You can learn more about how electricity is made with these plants on the following Wikipedia articles:

Here is the video. Hope you like it!

Meet Puerto Rico – Carraizo Dam

Meet Puerto Rico – Carraizo Dam

Hi everyone,

Today, I’m gonna show you a video of the Carraizo Dam, located in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. It is important because from here we get water for most of the metropolitan area. If it gets dry, they start cutting water on some sectors until the dam gets full again. Hope you like this video!

Meet Puerto Rico – Caonillas Dam

In this video I’m going to share with all of you today, I’ll show you the Caonillas Dam, located in Utuado, Puerto Rico. It is an amazing dam in that there is a bridge up there and when you see one side, it is full with water and the other side is where the water comes out all the way down to form a small river.

Hope you like the video!

Meet Puerto Rico in 3D! – Tren Urbano

Meet Puerto Rico in 3D! – Tren Urbano

Hi everyone,

In this topic, I will be sharing with you the 3D version of the ride in the Tren Urbano, the Heavy Rail Mass Transit System of the metropolitan area in Puerto Rico. It consists of 16 stations and covers the towns of San Juan, Guaynabo and Bayamon.

Click here if you prefer to view the 2D version of this video.

The train operates 4 coupled vehicles from Monday to Friday and 2 couple vehicles during the weekend and holidays. It receives power via a 3rd rail and had a fare of $0.75 one-way but it was raised to $1.50 due to reported losses. Two-way would be either $3.00.

The ride lasts approximately 30 minutes from the first station to the last one.

The video I’m going to show you starts after the Piñero station all the way to Bayamon. Hope you like it! It is real 3D, recorded with a Nintendo 3DS:
