Has anyone received their AMD Ryzen and Motherboard from Amazon? I still haven't
Hi everyone,
So this is kinda suspicious. Amazon gave me a delivery estimate for the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, which is from tomorrow, March 7 to Friday, March 10, but the same date also shows in the Amazon order page for the motherboard:
The thing is that the estimate I received by email was just for the CPU, and it is believable, as the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU does tell that it “May take an extra 1-2 days to ship” as you can see below:
The CPU first had an estimate date of March 10, then it changed to “May take an extra 1-2 days to ship” and then it changed back to March 8 as the estimated date they would have the CPU in stock before turning back to the current status, but the motherboard tells “Temporarily out of stock” and it has been since it was “released” on March 2nd:
Therefore, I assume that the estimate delivery date for the CPU is OK but the date for the motherboard is a glitch, altough NewEgg is supposedly getting motherboard stocks during these days and just today they released the ASRock X370. However, what really interests me is the B350M board.
I can also assume that Amazon is not showing an estimated date for the Motherboard but in fact they will be receiving stock on the following days as it doesn’t make sense that Newegg just receive stock and Amazon doesn’t. Yes, there is an AM4 motherboard shortage worldwide, but it seems Newegg is managing this situation better as they have already shipped some boards, and talking to several reps on Amazon they all give different answers as to when they will get stock.
You may be wondering why I’m waiting for Amazon instead of switching my order to Newegg? Well, the issue is that Newegg shipping is expensive compared to Amazon when it comes to shipping to Puerto Rico. Amazon charges like $12 per item for Next Day shipping, approximately $6 for 2-3 day shipping and Free Standard Shipping which usually means 1-2 weeks. Newegg only has 2-3 day shipping and the price really varies but it most of the time starts at $20 and up. Unfortunately since the board is not available on Newegg I can’t add it on the shopping cart to show you how high the shipping price is.
I just hope I receive the CPU and Motherboard as that is the only stuff I need to build my new system. I will be building the system with an EVGA 600W PSU, 1TB Hard Disk Drive, a DVD drive (a must since I love listening to Music CD), an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060, and 16GB of RAM. I already got the case and you can read about it by clicking here.
What about you? Have you received your AMD Ryzen CPU and one of the AM4 Motherboards? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for your attention! And follow me to read when I finally get the CPU and Motherboard and build my Ryzen PC!
