
Installing an SSD to the ASUS E210MA laptop – 500GB Samsung SSD 980
Hi everyone,
In this post, we will see how to install an SSD to the ASUS E210MA laptop:

This laptop features an M.2 2280 slot to install a separate NVMe drive, expanding the storage from the internal 64GB eMMC drive:

We will be installing a 500GB Samsung SSD 980 NVMe drive in this slot, which will be used as a separate drive to hold the machine’s data, while keeping the 64GB eMMC drive for the Ubuntu operating system.

The 500GB Samsung SSD 980
It’s been a while since I last got a Samsung SSD. The packaging haven’t changed that much. It is still simple, and you get the SSD immediately after opening it:



This SSD is compatible in the NVMe slot of the ASUS E210MA laptop:

There is no M.2 screw included. You will need to get a screw kit if you don’t have a spare with you. I got a kit sold by SGTKJSJS on Amazon.

For the laptop I had to use the smaller one:

The laptop recognized the SSD immediately in the BIOS:

And now, we can use it as we wish.
