The TRN BT20 2-pin 0.78mm IEM Bluetooth Adapter

Hi everyone, Today, I’ll be reviewing the TRN BT20 Bluetooth adapter for 2-pin In-Ear Monitors (IEM): The TRN BT20 is a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter that is available in 3 different versions: The version I purchased is the 2-pin 0.78mm for my KZ ZS7 IEM’s. The adapter syncs together to bring you stereo sound. It uses a Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 SoC that while it is not specified which specific chipset it’s being used, I suspect it may be using the Realtek…

Opus GUI v1.10 released!

Opus GUI v1.10 released!

Hi everyone, Today, I released Opus GUI v1.10: This new version adds support for ffmpeg’s native Opus encoder. I also included the latest x64 release of opusenc. As to what ffmpeg encoder to use, I recommend sticking to ffmpeg libopus, as my own tests revealed some artifact issues using ffmpeg opus. A difference between these 2 is that libopus encodes using variable bitrate while ffmpeg opus encodes only with a constant bitrate. Since libopus use variable bitrate, it can allocate…

DJ Digs Main Street Electrical Parade

DJ Digs Main Street Electrical Parade

Hi everyone, On Thursday, I received the DJ Digs Main Street Electrical Parade Audio CD. This CD was released in 2003 and contains 8 remixes from Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade and it was released exclusively in Japan. The remixes included in this CD are really worthwhile. Once you listen to this, listening back to the original Main Street Electrical Parade track may be boring, and you’ll want to continuously listen to this CD. The track listing for this CD…

A week with the Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus

A week with the Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus

Hi everyone, It’s been actually more than a week with my new Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus, and my experience with this new unit has been very positive. First of all, I haven’t faced the Blue LED problem again. As I wrote in my teardown article, they changed some components inside that may prevent this problem from happening again, but it also seems to have introduced a problem where the unit main LED turns orange. This happens rarely, and the unit…

New Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus Teardown

New Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus Teardown

Hi everyone, Today, I decided to do a Teardown of the new Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus unit I received to compare the internal components to my previous Tempotec/Hidizs DAC. The unit is identical from the outside, so I did the same teardown process I did before for this new unit. The best way to open it is to use a sharp object to very careful try to detach the glass. To my surprise, this new unit wasn’t glued entirely. It…

The Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus

The Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus

Hi everyone, Yesterday, I received the Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus: This is a DAC and AMP all in one device. It has Dual ES9018K2M, Dual ES9601K amplifiers, as well as a Balanced 2.5mm headphone jack as well as the regular 3.5mm jack. The device is very similar to the Hidizs DH1000. In fact, it is a rebranded Tempotec product. Today, I’ll take a look at a newer Tempotec Sonata iDSD Plus revision. The Tempotec unit I received should have some…

Opus GUI v1.9 released

Hi everyone, Today, I have released Opus GUI v1.9: This new release allows you to click on the opusenc and ffmpeg version labels to copy the text to your clipboard. This allows you to create folders by pasting the version string from the clipboard to better organize your content if you want to maintain the encodes organized by encoder version. This could be also useful if you want to store the files in folders named with the encoder version to…

Opus GUI v1.8 released

Hi everyone, Today, I have released Opus GUI v1.8: This is an improvement release. It is now able to detect whenever opusenc and FFmpeg exists in your PC.
