Diamond 10 Year Badge for World Community Grid’s FightAIDS@Home – Phase 2

Diamond 10 Year Badge for World Community Grid’s FightAIDS@Home – Phase 2

Hi everyone,

Today, I’d like to show you another nice badge that I got due to my Distributed Computing contribution. This time, the badge is from the World Community Grid project, specifically, the FightAIDS@Home – Phase 2.

I got the Diamond 10 Year badge, which is awarded once you do 10 years CPU time contribution. This badge looks as follows: FightAIDS@Home Phase 2 Diamond 10 Year Badge

This is the notice I got in BOINC:

FightAIDS@Home Phase 2 Diamond 10 Year Badge BOINC Message

And these are my stats up until this point:

Right now, I’m contributing to this project on my Android devices, so keep expecting more badges from me!

Diamond 5 Year Badge for Microbiome Immunity Project from World Community Grid

Diamond 5 Year Badge for Microbiome Immunity Project from World Community Grid

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I got the Diamond 5 Year Badge for the Microbiome Immunity Project from World Community Grid. The badge is the following: Microbiome Immunity Project - Diamond 5 Year Badge

This badge is awarded after contributong 5 Years in CPU Time. As I’ve explained in my previous badge achievements, CPU Time is like real time, except that the time is dependent to a workunit and per thread. For example, If I have an 8 Core AMD Ryzen 7 with Simultaneus Multithreading enabled, making it 16 threads total, and I get 16 workunits from this project and they are running simultianeusly, it means that the time is multiplied by 16 because all 16 threads are running the project application. In other words, CPU time is the time a workunit has ran in the PC. 16 Workunits running for an hour means 16 CPU Time hours.

This is the notice I got in BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing):

(Yes, I need to update BOINC)

My World Community Grid Statistics for November 10, 2017

My World Community Grid Statistics for November 10, 2017

Hi everyone,

In this post, I’ll share my World Community Grid statistics so you all know my progress on their different Distributed Computing projects:

As you can see from the above stats, I just need one more year to obtain the Diamond 5 Year medal for Microbiome Immunity Project.

I also need 3 more years for FightAIDS@Home to obtain the 20 Year Diamond Badge.

As you saw in my two earlier posts, I’ve been moving my equipment and configuring them. That’s why the past few days my contribution was lower, but today, they have performed a lot of computations and returned more tasks.

Oh, and I also got some Beta tasks!

Right now, I’m configuring BOINCTasks so that I can monitor all of my machines from one place 😁

That’s all for this post!

Got the Sapphire Badge for World Community Grid’s Microbiome Immunity Project!

Got the Sapphire Badge for World Community Grid’s Microbiome Immunity Project!

Hi everyone,

I finally got the Sapphire badge for the Microbiome Immunity Project from IBM’s World Community Grid. This is a badge that is awarded after performing 2 CPU-time years of contribution toward a project.

This is the new shiny badge I got: Microbiome Immunity Project - Sapphire Badge

The message I got in BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing):

Microbiome Immunity Project - Sapphire Badge BOINC Notice

And here are my stats as of now:

There’s still no power in Puerto Rico where my 24-thread server is located, and even if there’s power, there’s a change there’s no internet services, so my stats here doesn’t show my contribution for that server. I hope the power and internet services gets restored soon!

These are the projects I’ve set to contribute and earn the rest of the badges:

Microbiome Immunity Project - Sapphire Badge - Selected projects

My plans doesn’t change. I will continue crunching to these projects and try to earn the next badges 😁

Emerald Badge for World Community Grid’s Microbiome Immunity Project

Hi everyone,

Today, I got another badge in World Community Grid, and it’s the Emerald Badge for the Microbiome Immunity Project! Microbiome Immunity Project - Emerald Badge

This means I’ve processed 1 year worth of workunits in my machines.

The next badge will be the Sapphire Badge, awarded after processing 2 CPU-time years of workunits.

The message I got in BOINC:

Microbiome Immunity Project - Emerald Badge BOINC Notice

My stats so far:

My workunits in one of my machines:

Microbiome Immunity Project - Emerald Badge - Tasks in BOINC

I’ll be contributing toward this project as well FightAIDS@Home and see if I can get the next badges 😁. My goal is to reach 20 years on those projects. I’m also participating in Help Stop TB, but tasks on that one are rarely delivered to my machines.

Here you can see the projects I’ve selected to contribute:

Microbiome Immunity Project - Emerald Badge - Selected projects

And yes, I’m also contributing toward the MilkyWay@Home project as can be seen on the BOINC screenshot above.

That’s all for this update!

I got the Diamond 20 Year badge for OpenZika from World Community Grid!

I got the Diamond 20 Year badge for OpenZika from World Community Grid!

Hi everyone!

Today night, I got the Diamond 20 Year Badge from the World Community Grid Project: OpenZika. This badge is awarded after contributing 20 years in CPU-time to this project.

The badge is the following: OpenZika - Diamond 20 Year Badge

Here is the message I just got in BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing):

OpenZika - Diamond 20 Year BOINC Message

And here’s my stats for the World Community Grid project in general:

What’s Next?

I’ll be focusing now in getting the Diamond 20 Year Badge for FightAIDS@Home – Phase 1, since I already have contributed 17 years on that once, I just need to crunch a few more tasks to reach 20 years. I’m also still participating in the Help Stop TB and Microbiome Immunity Project, in which I should be getting the Sapphire badge pretty soon. Wish me luck!

Please note that I’m contributing with several machines, but due to Hurricane Maria, my 24-thread server is currently turned off as there’s still no electricity in Puerto Rico, where the server is located. All of the rest of my machines (and my Steem Witness) are running in Florida, USA. Once power is restored in Puerto Rico and the server can be turned on again, it will again be contributing toward these projects.

That’s all for this update!

20 year badge for Outsmart Ebola Together! Another project from IBM World Community Grid

20 year badge for Outsmart Ebola Together! Another project from IBM World Community Grid

Hi everyone,

Continuing with my badge-collecting adventure, I got today the Diamond 20 Year Badge for the Outsmart Ebola Together project from IBM World Community Grid.

The other days, I also got the Diamond 20 Year Badge for the Smash Childhood Cancer project as well, and I told you in the last paragraph that I changed the priority of the projects so I can upgrade my badges from the other projects. This is the result of it 🙂

The Diamond 20 Year Badge for Outsmart Ebola Together is the following: World Community Grid - Outsmart Ebola Together - Diamond 20 Year Badge

This is the notice I got in BOINC:

World Community Grid - Outsmart Ebola Together - Diamond 20 Year BOINC message

And here are my stats so far:

As you can see from the latest graphs, I have fully recovered from the passing of Hurricane Irma (Click for some photos), which caused me to lose power and my machines were unfortunately not contributing to the project. Now, as you can see from there, my machines are back up and contributing again. Yay! 😄

So what’s next?

I’ve changed the priority once again and have enabled the following projects:

So I should be getting tasks for those projects and upgrade my current badges pretty soon 🙂

Let’s keep on crunching! I’ll update you when I get another shiny badge 😁

20 Year badge for my contribution of Smash Childhood Cancer from World Community Grid

20 Year badge for my contribution of Smash Childhood Cancer from World Community Grid

Hi everyone,

I did it! I finally got the Diamond 20 year badge for my contribution toward the Smash Childhood Cancer from World Community Grid.

This came as a surprise since these days I’ve only been crunching tasks with my 24-thread server which is located in Puerto Rico. All of my other machines were disabled since Sunday due to Hurricane Irma passing over the State of Florida. They are all now activated once again since we just got power again. You can see in the stats below that for these pasts days, there was little contribution done compared to the rest of the past days.

The badge is the following: World Community Grid - Smash Childhood Cancer - Diamond 20 Year Badge

Notice received in BOINC:

My World Community Grid stats up to this point:

World Community Grid - Smash Childhood Cancer - Diamond 20 Year - Stats 1
World Community Grid - Smash Childhood Cancer - Diamond 20 Year - Stats 2

Now, I’ve changed the priority to receive some Outsmart Ebola Together, FightAIDS@Home, Help Stop TB, and Microbiome Immunity Project tasks, to collect the next badges of those projects 🙂

Let’s Keep Crunching!
